While we are probably best-known for our health club design and hotel fit out projects; every now and then something special comes up which we can’t miss out on. We’ve won a 12-month design and build contract for the construction of 9 high end residential townhouses in a private courtyard setting just a stone’s throw away from Chiswick Town Centre, with private off-street parking and terraces.

Project Description

The new project, Carlton Mews is a residential design and build development located on the site of an existing day care centre in Chiswick, London. It consists of nine low carbon emission dwellings; each provided with state-of-the-art technologies to enhance occupant experience and reduce building carbon dioxide emissions.

Ideally situated, the development is only around 6.5 miles from central London, half a mile from South Acton Station (overground) and 0.7 miles from the nearest underground station – Chiswick Park.

Not only will the new homes create a new sense of community, but also meet all-important local and national aspirations for sustainability.

The Dwellings

The Development will consist of nine family eco-homes; four 4-bedroom semi-detached and five 5-bedroom semi-detached and terraced houses. These beautiful new homes will be accompanied by 18 car parking spaces surrounded by high-quality landscaping, creating a functional and pleasant environment.

We focus on the using robust, quality materials in order to design and build timeless buildings which reflect the local architecture. Each house is expressed individually with a frame of cast stone to the street side and brickwork to the rear. The houses vary slightly in height and their projection at above first floor. This breaks down the massing and frontage at street level giving a varied and interesting street feel as well as a different identity to each house.

The materials for this development have been chosen to give a superior quality, feel and sustainability. The development will look as great on the first day it opens as it does in 30 years’ time; all of the materials have been chosen with a long-life span and low maintenance in mind.
