When Monsoon Accessorize decided to maximise space in its head office building in Notting Hill, West London, the fashion retailer turned to the Revo. Having worked with Monsoon both in design, fit-out and relocation for the last five years, Monsoon, Revo was the natural choice. The substantial project included rebuilding office and meeting room partitioning, redecoration, installing flooring and moving 420 work stations, together with data and IT systems, across a number of floors.
After initial in-depth space and logistical planning of the project, Revo phased the work over three weekends. The first phase involved moving 120 workstations and 100 cupboards while the subsequent two phases each saw 150 workstations and 100 cupboards relocated. Construction and fit-out of the office spaces was undertaken out of hours over a four-week period. IT and data involved relocating computers, printers, plotters and scanners and ensuring all was fully operational for the beginning of the working day on Monday morning.
The nature of the Monsoon Accessorize business means that large quantities of clothing samples and fabric are piled on tables as designers work with the ranges. This complicated the move as it was not simply a matter of transferring the contents of cupboards or drawers. Before each phase, Revo allocated boxes and crates to the areas involved so that staff could pack and label items to minimise disruption. In addition, a replica shop display area and large amounts of racking had to be moved and rebuilt to complete the project.
Simon Walker, Monsoon Accessorize Ltd’s Head of Facilities, Maintenance & Equipment, comments “Revo is a perfect fit for us. The nature of our projects is quite complicated and it is essential to our fast-moving business that everything goes according to plan. We can trust Revo 100% of the time hence our ongoing relationship.”
