About This Project
Revo have carried out many projects for GLL since 2013. This particular project is the Swindon Link Centre, Swindon completed September 2019.
The clients brief specified the complete refurbishment of the Ladies and Gents wet side change areas, DDA Shower/Changing Room area, Communal corridor and creation of a separate Family Vanity Area.
As with most of our Leisure Centre projects this was to be completed within a “live environment”. Phased to allow continued use of the Swimming Pool at all times. A traffic flow was set up to segregate contractors from clients and to ensure complete safety to the centre’ clients entering and leaving the Changing Room/Corridor area.
Gents Wet Change was the first phase; M&E items removed or isolated, Cubicles, Entrance Doors and Ceiling Grid removed. Walls and floors were stripped of existing tiles and floor gulley’. Tanking of the floors and walls to the Showers and walkways. Re-plastering walls, some part tiled & painted walls, remaining walls and floors fully tiled with new gulley’ tanked and set in slip resistant tiles to the floors. New fire doors and frames hung, new ceiling grid and lighting installed and a new cubicle layout to included additional accessible change completed to the clients brief.
Second phase for the Ladies Wet Change was a repeat of the first phase but with the traffic flow changed for clients safety. New Family Vanity area with hair dryers and hair straighteners created and completion of a newly refurbished DDA Shower area with all new DDA shower and toilet fittings.
Final Phase was the completion of the communal corridor; stripped of existing carpet flooring, redecorated throughout, new ceiling tiles and lighting, latex floor and new Karndean flooring to complete the works.
